Visual testing is a Non-Destructive testing method in which the reflected or transmitted light from a test object is imaged with a light sensitive device. This is the oldest method of all NDT methods. No special equipment required for visual inspection. It can be done using low power magnifying glass, fiberscopes or camera systems. This visual inspection can be done in combination with other methods of NDT.
NDT is normally applied during construction, operative and maintenance of projects such as oil and natural gas rig, Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOSP), refineries, power plant, ship buliding, chemical plants, fertilizers, automobile, nuclear plants, aerospace, steel plants etc.
