Radiographic testing (RT), or Industrial Radiography, is a Non Destructive Testing (NDT) method of inspecting materials for hidden defects by using the ability of short wavelength electromagnetic radiation to penetrate various materials. It is mostly used to find the defect in the weld by using X ray Machine & Gamma Ray Camera to penetrate the materials. The rays are captured on the otherside using radiographic films or sensors. The beam of radiation passes through defect and produces a latent image in the films with varying densities according to the amount of radiation reaching the other side of the material.
NDT is normally applied during construction, operative and maintenance of projects such as Oil and Natural Gas Rig, Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOSP), refineries, power plant, ship building, chemical plants, fertilizers, automobile, nuclear plants, aerospace, steel plants etc.
